UPDATES NEW!

New: there's a solution that isn't an emulator of an older Windows version, but a compatibility layer that runs the 16-bit executable directly under your Windows 10/11: WineVDM / OTVDM (open source project, based on components from Wine): it's specifically designed to let 64-bit versions of Windows, including Windows 11, run old 16-bit applications. It's a compatibility layer, not a virtual machine.

CONSEILS DE DÉPANNAGE
System\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers.VDD. Virtual Device Driver format in registry is invalid. Chose 'Close' to terminate the application
In some cases, click on "Ignore" allows the program to run properly, but the error message continues to appear when you start 16-bit programs.

Run Regedit then open the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD

In some cases this VDD key no more exist. If it exists, click to select it, then right click, choose "Delete".
Then you must recreate it: In the "Edit" menu, point to "New" and click on "Multi-String Value." Type "VDD" in the "Value Name", then confirm with "Enter"
Can't run 16-bits Windows Program
If when you try to run a program, a dialog box containing the error "Can not run 16-bit Windows Program" appears on the screen, here's how to fix this problem due to non functioning of the creation of short file names:

Run Regedit then open the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

Double click the value NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation then enter 0 in the Data text box value
Confirm with OK, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer to apply the change

If you are not familiar with the registry, you can simply run this small file that will automatically do the modification above!
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications
Find the file autoexec.nt in C:\windows\repair\ and copy it in the folder C:\windows\system32\
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running
